Lionel Zetter

LIONEL ZETTER has been involved with the Conservative Party for more than thirty years. During that period he has been chairman of Sussex University Conservative Association and chairman of Enfield Southgate Conservative Association. He has worked for two Tory MPs and has done a stint in the CCO War Room. In the 2001 general election he was the Tory election agent in Edmonton, and in 2005 he was the Conservative parliamentary candidate in that constituency. He is still Conservative ward chairman for Cockfosters & Hadley Wood and a member of his association executive. He is also a director of the Enterprise Forum, which is the policy interface between the Conservative Party and British business.

Professionally, Zetter is the former managing director of Parliamentary Monitoring Services Ltd and Political Wizard Ltd, and the former deputy chairman of Dods Parliamentary Communications Ltd. He is a director of the opinion polling company ComRes and a vice president of PublicAffairsAsia. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the National Union of Journalists. Zetter is the former editor of Vacher’s Election Guide, The PMS Parliamentary Companion and Parliaments and Assemblies of the UK. He is also the author of The Political Campaigning Handbook and of Lobbying: The Art of Political Persuasion.
