This Morning is a funny old programme. It used to be all curing people of their phobia of buttons and who’d been engaging in incest on Eastenders that week. Good, morning fun. Then it got a bit weird. Eamonn Holmes started talking about sex toys, whilst his wife was stood next to him, inevitably forcing upon the viewer a mental image of Ruth and Eamonn, you know...using them. Given these unfortunate occurrences I was pleased to see This Morning get back to its more conventional roots today with this tweet:

@itvthismorning A study found that half the men in Britain think doing the dishes is a Valentine's gift. We want to hear your stories of misjudged romance.

Well this study has CLEARLY got its results from author and blogger Kerri Sackville. Kerri’s upcoming book When My Husband Does the Dishes...He Usually Wants Sex is about what marriage looks like after three children and 150 years of togetherness. It’s about little white lies and boxer shorts on the floor and eating frankfurts for dinner every night. It’s Kerri Sackville’s life.

And she suspects it might be yours too. Kerri has written this book for people like her, people who can relate to her, or people who find her amusing – which, in a tragic sort of way, she is. When My Husband Does the Dishes... is part memoir, part faux guide to marriage and motherhood and a must read for all women. It is accurate, clever and very, very funny

It has certainly had the team here at Biteback and the Robson Press laughing out loud, or lolling, as they say.

We’ve got some very exciting offers and news coming up regarding this book so keep checking back here and on twitter for details. Also, make sure you follow Kerri on twitter @kerrisackville and read her blog, Life and Other Crises.

When My Husband Does the Dishes... will be published by The Robson Press on 29th March 2012.
