There hasn't been a blog on this site since Thursday. I think only Panic at the Disco can demonstrate how I feel about this:

"Oh how it's been so long. We're so sorry we've been gone. We were busy publishing books for you."

OK I added the last part myself - "you don't have to worry because we're still the same baaaand." Panic at the Disco again.

I had been sticking to my 'at least one blog a day' rule until last Friday when these four walls came crashing down and pretty much everything that could go wrong with the books that we're soon publishing, did so all at once. Messy. So instantly everyone went into head down, don't talk to me mode. In fact, I've hardly communicated with these people at all in the past 3 days.

Now that we've all managed to get our heads back above water we broke the ice about an hour ago with this conversation:

Hollie: AAACHOOO!
Katy: Ha! Sneezing is so weird.
Hollie: Why?
Katy: I've always thought that if an alien was just walking down the street, being superior, and a human went AACHOO and all that air came rushing out of their face - only to carry on walking as if nothing had happened - he'd think we were completely mental.
Hollie: What makes you think this alien is superior to us?
Katy: Well, because it's here.
Sam aka Senior Editor Man: That is an undeniable bit of logic.

I think what Sam meant by that was: Katy Scholes, one - Hollie Teague, nil.

This month we're publishing a history of the military covenant, a biography of Tony Benn, a biography of Ed Miliband and a book about US foreign policy since the second world war. It's all go. But we're enjoying every minute - when the walls are being considerate that is.
