Ken Hom has delighted thousands with his cookery programmes and books and is recognised as one of the world’s leading authorities on Chinese and Asian food.  In this fascinating memoir, Ken speaks of his tough childhood growing up in poverty in Chicago’s Chinatown, his early passion for food and cooking and how he became a pioneer of Asian food in Britain, becoming one of our best-loved TV chefs.

Food writer and journalist James Steen has collaborated with many top chefs in telling their stories as well as writing The Kitchen Magpie, a quirky culinary collection of facts and stories, and will be with us to draw out the threads of Ken’s remarkable life.
