Broadcasting legend Mike Read will be at the Henley Literary Festival talking about his book Forever England: The Life of Rupert Brooke
As a radio host, songwriter, journalist and television presenter, Mike Read’s career has spanned many decades and vocations. A Knight of Malta, he has been crowned National Broadcaster of the Year an incredible ten times, as well as receiving the music industry’s prestigious Gold Badge Award. His time at the helm of iconic shows such as Top of the Pops and the Radio One Breakfast Show, as well as collaborations with the greats of media, music and broadcasting, have cemented his status as a household name for over thirty years. With a plethora of shows, songwriting credits, musicals and books to his name, Mike continues to delight audiences with daily radio programmes for the BBC and Magic, and a regular reviewer slot on Sky News. He lives in Henley, Oxfordshire.
