What does it mean to be British?
In conversation with the broadcaster and author Hashi Mohamed, the Former Defence Secretary Penny Mordaunt and historian Helene von Bismarck come together for a timely and revealing conversation about identity, ceremony and national self-image.
From pageantry and parliament to empire, monarchy, immigration and Brexit, they explore the stories Britain tells about itself and the ones others tell about us.
Together they ask what still holds the United Kingdom together, how Britishness is changing and whether looking at ourselves through other people’s eyes might be the most illuminating view of all.
There will be a book signing after this event.
