Our first Daily Mash spoof!
Brilliantly, the Daily Mash has run with the story of the furore that followed when Peter Sissons wore a burgundy tie on the day the Queen Mother died.
In majestic mockery of our most recent headline-grabbing book When One Door Closes, the Daily Mash has come up with some gems, including:
Writing in This is the Sissons, he said: "I was pulled to one side and told I should keep it fairly light, given that she was 132 or something, but at the same time I shouldn't open with 'Britain's most notorious alcoholic...'.
and:
Sissons added: "They also asked me to put on a shirt and tie which was lucky because I was about to go on air wearing a t-shirt that just said 'flaps'."
Since we've already lowered the tone somewhat, it seems necessary that we should include in this post one of our favourite Peter Sissons outtakes, the now nearly 135,000 viewers strong, Anne Robinson clip. Enjoy.
Peter Sissons' excellent autobiography, When One Door Closes, will be available from 25th January, priced £17.99.
