Biteback Publishing and the Robson Press are recruiting for a vibrant new assistant in the sales and marketing team. You will be given the specific remit of driving online sales and boosting our representation across social media platforms. You will provide weekly sales and traffic reports and contribute to discussions on ways in which we can improve our strategy. An understanding and appreciation of politics and its key players is useful.

Biteback and the Robson Press publish up to one hundred books a year, as such, organisation is absolutely essential to keeping your responsibilities in order and ensuring you’re able to meet deadlines and the requirements of the company’s online profile.

Much of the role is administrative. But we do also require a candidate who can think on their feet about ways we can drive sales in a market where news and information are available freely, 24/7. Biteback is looking to build online communities of book lovers, you will liaise with the Marketing Manager and the Deputy Chief Executive to discuss strategies and implementation.

You will be responsible for:
Driving sales
Maintenance of BB, RP and Politicos.co.uk websites
Innovative use of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and other social media outlets
Maintenance of book trade information
Prompt book order fulfilment
General administration

Preferred experience:
Experience using social media, a must
Knowledge of the book trade and some experience of book selling
Knowledge of politics and players

The candidate will be:
A keen bookseller
A character, able to communicate messages effectively to our potential customers
Well organised
Willing to take an idea and run with it to make it work
