Here are some pictures of people enjoying themselves. At the Biteback blog we like to think that we bring joy to all. All may be a slight overstatement but I'm willing to confess to my hightened sense of self-importance. If you had to look at and feel responsible for all these shiny, happy (important) faces all day, you'd think you rocked the world too. Apparently the first step to recovery is recognising and admitting the problem, call this my confession.
Bruce Anderson - ex editor of the Spectator - brought joy to the lives of listeners when he relayed a strange story about the Pope and a Rabbi but to be honest, it was over a week ago now and I can't really remember what he said. I've obviously remembered the most important bits though. Pope. Rabbi. And there was definitely something in there about immigration too.
The launch event of How to be in Opposition took place last Monday in St John's, Smith Square and up and batting for the red team was the lovely Baroness Royal who gave a speech in place of Neil Kinnock who couldn't make it. I would say the funniest part would have to be the first line "I must confess I haven't read the book". Ohh. Awkward. Well, I thought it was funny. Besides, she bought two copies afterwards - who wouldn't forgive her?
And lastly, got to love those group shots. Nigel Fletcher joined by friends including a contributor to both How to be in Opposition and The Prime Ministers Who Never Were, Greg Rosen and Chris Skidmore MP.
Just look at them. In my head they're holding hands and singing.
