imgBilly Elliot1.jpgWhen politics and musicals come together, there's only one person to go to for the final word on whether a production is worth seeing: Total Politics Political Editor and top theatre critic, Amber Elliott. This week she has been to see Billy Elliot The Musical.

With its gritty backdrop of the miners' strike and the Thatcher government, and the themes of social mobility, sexuality and leotards, the production has become a mainstay of the London theatre scene. Here's what Amber thought of it:

'Those kids can dance'.

'There was a song about socialism. It was quite geopolitical'.
