Matt Chorley, political editor of the Independent on Sunday isn't one to mince his words. Or maybe he's just saying what we wanted to, but weren't sure we could. Of our new book on a double-page spread in the Indi this weekend, How to be in Opposition: Life in the political shadows, Chorley writes: "A modern-day survival guide for losers."

Nice.

No offense to the opposition, or anything.

He also wrote that Ed Miliband - whose biography we're publishing in July - "will do well to heed a new book warning politicians to stay positive to claw their way out of the wilderness".

How to be in Opposition features essays from leading academics and practitioners, combining first-hand accounts - by the likes of Neil Kinnock and Gillian Shepard - of the challenges of life in the shadows with detailed analysis of its opportunities.

Nigel Fletcher, the editor of the book is the founder and Executive Director of the Centre for Opposition Studies, so never can we be accused of not having genuine experts as authors and editors! Let's be honest, if you could have anyone compile a book about political opposition, it would be the founder and Executive Director of the Centre for Opposition Studies, right? God. We're good.
