Caroline Walton, author of The Besieged: A Story of Survival, on her favourite political protest ever.
A shocking new piece of repressive legislation has been passed, banning toys from demonstrating against the forthcoming elections in Russia.
Undaunted, Kinder Surprise and Lego figures, plastic animals, cars and assorted other toys have braved blizzards and freezing temperatures to come out in force in the Siberian city of Barnaul. The mayor argues that toys are not citizens of Russia and some are even imported.
The ban also extends to domestic appliances.
It’s my favourite political protest ever; any more offers?
