Dr Sarah-Louise Miller – The Women Behind The Few

Monday 15 May, 4:00pm-5:00pm

Fowey Town Hall

£10.00

Historian and author Dr Sarah-Louise Miller discusses the work of the Women’s Auxiliary Air Force and RAF Intelligence during the Second World War and how their ‘hidden’ contribution was vital to the success of the ‘Few’.

In this thrilling book, Sarah brings the women of the force back to life, celebrating their wartime contribution to British military intelligence. Hidden behind the Few but vital to their success, WAAFs supplied the RAF with life-saving information. Here, for the first time, is their story.

“Richly illuminating, this is a powerful and deeply engrossing history of the women whose unsung war work was consigned for so many years to the shadows.” Sinclair McKay, author of The Secret Life of Bletchley Park.

Dr Sarah-Louise Miller is an experienced historian, researcher, author, educator and media consultant, specialising in Second World War history. She gained her PhD at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London, and is currently based at the University of Oxford’s Faculty of History. Sarah has appeared in numerous historical television documentaries with the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky History and speaks and lectures regularly on Second World War history.
