Janis Sharp will be speaking at Booked! West Dunbartonshire, Festival of Words about her book Saving Gary McKinnon : A Mother’s Story
Saving Gary McKinnon: A Mother’s Story tells the story of Janis Sharp’s ten year battle to save her son from being extradited to the US for alleged computer crimes. Gary McKinnon was arrested for hacking into American government computers in a search for evidence about UFOs and the deliberate suppression of free energy sources. Gary had been diagnosed as having a form of autism. Fearing that Gary would take his life rather than face up to 70 years imprisonment, Janis not only succeeded in defeating extradition proceedings but also was to see all charges dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service. Janis and her supporters managed to defeat the might of the world’s greatest super-power.
